Eighteenth-rankedGimnasia CR (5-22) gave a tough game to fifteenth ranked San Martin (10-21) in Comodoro Rivadavia on Saturday. The visitors from Corrientes managed to secure only two-point victory 90-88 . However their fans expected easier game. San Martin dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Gimnasia CR 's 28 and made 22-of-26 free shots (84.6 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Gimnasia 42-27 including 30 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Mateo Rearte (-2006) who scored 23 points and 6 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). Center Lorenzo Benay (203-2004) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. Four San Martin players scored in double figures. Point guard Jose Copesky (184-2006) produced 30 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and Natalio Santacroce added 25 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Gimnasia CR's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. San Martin have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fifteenth position with 10-21 record. Defending champion Gimnasia dropped to the nineteenth place with 22 games lost.
