Regular Season Round 40: La Union - Riachuelo LR 92-85

There was a surprise result when tenth ranked La Union (15-12) beat higher ranked Riachuelo (22-9) in Formosa 92-85 on Tuesday. The winners were led by Augusto Moresco who scored that evening 26 points and 6 rebounds and Thiago Gronda supported him with 21 points and 5 rebounds. Even a double-double of 26 points and 12 rebounds (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field) by center Fabricio Diaz (205-2006) did not help to save the game for Riachuelo. Guard Jeremias Barco (-2005) added 21 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. La Union have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain tenth position with 15-12 record. Loser Riachuelo LR keeps the fourth place with nine games lost. La Union will meet bottom-ranked Atenas (#20) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Riachuelo will have a break next round.
