Regular Season Round 34: Quimsa - Obras 96-72

Date: April 16, 2025
Very expected game in Santiado del Estero where 6th ranked Obras (18-12) was crushed by second ranked Quimsa (22-10) 96-72 on Wednesday. Quimsa dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Obras' 26. Bahamas center Tavario Miller (203-1994, college: Texas A&M) fired 26 points and 7 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. The former international point guard Juan Brussino (185-1991) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 assists. Miller is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Quimsa players scored in double figures. American forward Chris Clarke (196-1996, college: Texas Tech, agency: Interperformances) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and the former international Marcos Mata (202-1986) added 10 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Quimsa have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 22-10 record having just three point less than leader Boca. Loser Obras keeps the sixth place with 12 games lost. Quimsa will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Obras will play against Riachuelo (#3) in La Rioja and hope to secure a win.
