Date: April 21, 2025
No shocking result in a game when fifth rankedObras (20-12) beat 7th ranked Gimnasia (18-14) in Buenos Aires 75-70 on Monday. Obras outrebounded Gimnasia 38-25 including a 37-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by American forward Chris Clarke (196-1996, college: Texas Tech, agency: Interperformances) who scored that evening 16 points and 8 rebounds and the former international Marcos Mata (202-1986) supported him with 9 points and 8 rebounds. Even 16 points and 6 assists by American Andre Nation (196-1993, college: JMU) did not help to save the game for Gimnasia . Cuban swingman Marcos Chacon (194-2003) added 13 points and 4 steals. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Obras moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Obera. Loser Gimnasia keeps the seventh position with 14 games lost. Obras' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Buenos Aires Ferro.
