No shocking result in a game in La Rioja where third rankedRiachuelo (22-13) defeated 7th ranked Gimnasia (20-17) 77-73 on Friday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Riachuelo had a 34-23 advantage in offensive rebounds. American power forward Reginald Buckner (206-1991, college: Ole Miss) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and point guard Juan Corbalan (185-1998) chipped in 17 points and 5 assists. Four Riachuelo LR players scored in double figures. Guard Emiliano Toretta (185-2001) responded with 25 points and American Andre Nation (196-1993, college: JMU) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Despite that victory Riachuelo went down to fifth position due to points difference, which they share with Obras. Gimnasia lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 17 games lost.
