Important game to mention about took place in La Rioja. Second rankedQuimsa (26-12) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 3rd placed Riachuelo (22-13) 99-97 on Sunday evening. Quimsa made 29-of-33 charity shots (87.9 percent) during the game. Riachuelo was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The former international guard Nicolas Romano (200-1987) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots). American Brandon Robinson (196-1989, college: Clayton St.) contributed with 24 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) for the winners. Point guard Juan Corbalan (185-1998) answered with 31 points and 4 assists and American power forward Reginald Buckner (206-1991, college: Ole Miss) added 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Riachuelo. Four Quimsa and five Riachuelo players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Quimsa maintains second place with 26-12 record having just three point less than leader Boca. Riachuelo at the other side dropped to the fifth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Obras.
