Regular Season Round 12: Atenas - La Union 70-87

There was no surprise in Cordoba where 14th rankedAtenas (4-7) was defeated by second ranked La Union (7-4) 87-70 on Thursday. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Tomas Spano (183-1998) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and the former international forward Alexis Elsener (195-1988, agency: Interperformances) who added 15 points during the contest. Elsener is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The best for the losing side was point guard Santiago Ferreyra (188-1997) with 15 points and 6 assists and American forward Nakye Sanders (202-1997, college: Towson) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. La Union maintains second position with 7-4 record having just one point less than leader Instituto. Atenas lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth place with seven games lost.
