There was an upset whenLas Heras (1-2) was crushed on the road by Suardi (1-1) 98-66 on Thursday. Suardi dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Las Heras ' 30. They outrebounded Las Heras 42-27 including 34 on the defensive glass. Suardi looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for Gaston Fino who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 5 rebounds. Pablo Martinez helped adding 19 points. The best for the losing side was Chilean Martin Irrutia (-1999) with 14 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and Venezuelan center Javinger Vargas (202-1990) scored 9 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Suardi will meet at home Estudiantes T. (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Las Heras will have a break next round.
