There was a surprise result in Santiago del Estero where seventeenth rankedIndependiente (2-6) defeated higher ranked Riojana (2-4) 90-80 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was power forward Cristian Amicucci (200-1985) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds. Matias Morera (191-1999) chipped in 19 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Center Fabricio Diaz (205-2006) produced 12 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and Mateo Beigier (187-2001) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Five Riojana players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Independiente moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Colon and Dep Norte. Loser Riojana keeps the thirteenth position with four games lost. They share it with Dep Viedma.
