Rather expected game in Buenos Aires where 9th rankedPenarol (8-6) was defeated by seventh ranked Obras (8-4) 95-86 on Sunday. Obras made 31-of-35 free shots (88.6 percent) during the game. Obras outrebounded Penarol 40-27 including 27 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American guard Ty Sabin (190-1994, college: Ripon) who scored 31 points (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!). The former international point guard Juan Brussino (185-1991) chipped in 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Obras players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Al Thornton (203-1983, college: FSU, agency: BIG) who recorded 25 points and point guard Luciano Guerra (184-1997) added 22 points respectively. Penarol's coach Leonardo Costa rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Obras moved-up to third place. Penarol lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth position with six games lost. They share it with Boca Juniors.
