An interesting game took place in Santa Fe where higher rankedIndepend.O. (7-5) was upset on the court of sixteenth ranked Union (5-8) 100-85 . Union shot 60.7 percent from the field and made 18-of-22 charity shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 58.3 percentage. Union players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Swingman Emiliano Basabe (195-1992) notched 23 points to lead the effort and the former international point guard Franco Balbi (189-1989) supported him with 12 points and 10 assists. Even 17 points and 4 assists by the former international Eric Flor (190-1993) did not help to save the game for Independ.O. . added 13 points and 5 rebounds. Four Union and five Independ.O. players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Union moved-up to fifteenth place. Independ.O. at the other side dropped to the eighth position with five games lost.
