We should mention about the upset which took place in Cordoba, where higher rankedInstituto (9-9) lost at home to eighteenth ranked Racing Ch. (5-9) 78-87 on Sunday. Racing Ch. outrebounded Instituto 42-29 including 27 on the defensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Racing Ch. made 7 blocks. American guard Thomas Cooper (196-1992, college: Calgary) scored 22 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import center Deion McClenton (208, college: Keiser) chipped in 17 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. Racing Ch.'s coach Carlos Beguerie used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side naturalized Italian point guard Gaston Whelan (187-1994) responded with 26 points and the former international Tomas Monacchi (198-1997) scored 21 points and 8 rebounds.
