Regular Season Round 26: La Union - Quimsa 78-77

Date: January 11, 2026
The game had a very big importance for third-ranked La Union as it allowed them to take a leadership position. La Union edged 9th ranked Quimsa in Formosa 78-77. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Alexis Elsener (195-1988, agency: Interperformances) who scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. Power forward Sebastian Acevedo (200-1990) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds. Elsener is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five La Union players scored in double figures. The former international Leonardo Lema (203-1998) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and American Brandon Robinson (196-1989, college: Clayton St.) added 19 points respectively for the guests. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Quimsa at the other side dropped to the eighth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Penarol and Gimnasia. Quimsa will play next round against Regatas trying to get back on the winning streak. La Union will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
