Very predictable result when third rankedObras (16-3) edged 12th ranked Racing Ch. (10-12) in Buenos Aires 83-80 on Monday. However just three-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Obras outrebounded Racing Ch. 42-30 including a 19-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Obras looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Juan Respaud (190-2005) who led the winners and scored 24 points and 5 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Colombian center Juan Madrigal (205-2004) accounted for 14 points and 11 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) for the winning side. Obras' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Paraguayan Augusto Cardenas came up with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and Tomas Delia added 19 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Racing Ch. in the defeat. Five Obras and four Racing Ch. players scored in double figures. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Obras . They maintain third place with 16-3 record having just three point less than leader La Union. Loser Racing Ch. dropped to the tenth position with 12 games lost.
