Regular Season Round 29: Atenas - San Martin 92-78

There was an upset in Cordoba where higher ranked San Martin (9-13) was defeated by seventeenth ranked Atenas (7-15) 92-78 on Monday. Tiago Tomatis stepped up and scored 32 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and Benjamin Imaz chipped in 22 points and 5 rebounds. Dominican center Leonel Nunez (206-2004) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 16 rebounds and Luciano Lemos scored 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Atenas. They moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Penarol and Argentino. San Martin lost their third game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with 13 games lost. Atenas will meet higher ranked Ferro (#7) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. San Martin will have a break next round.
