No shocking result in a game in La Banda where tenth rankedPenarol (12-10) defeated 12th ranked Olimpico (10-14) 87-74 on Wednesday. Penarol outrebounded Olimpico 42-26 including 32 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Al Thornton (203-1983, college: FSU, agency: BIG) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 5 assists and the former international center Ivan Basualdo (203-1990) who added 14 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Penarol's coach Leonardo Costa used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Venezuelan forward Jose Ascanio (204-1996) responded with 18 points and 6 rebounds and guard Franco Vieta (194-1992) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Penarol maintains tenth position with 12-10 record. Olimpico at the other side dropped to the thirteenth place with 14 games lost.
