Regular Season Round 13: Riachuelo - Chanares 81-99

Bottom-rankedRiachuelo is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their sixth consecutive match to leader Chanares (7-0) 99-81 on Thursday evening. Chanares forced 24 Riachuelo turnovers and outrebounded them 56-37 including 21 on the offensive glass. Chanares looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Naturalized Italian point guard Regina Carosio (165-1986) nailed a triple-double by scoring 23 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists and 6 steals for the winning side and Macarena Galindez accounted for 15 points and 11 rebounds. Cira Gordillo came up with 17 points and 4 assists and point guard Florencia Ortiz (160-2000) added 16 points and 4 assists respectively for Riachuelo in the defeat. Five Chanares and four Riachuelo players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Chanares have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader. Loser Riachuelo still closes the standings with six games lost.
