Not a big story in a game when 9th rankedRacing A. (10-11) lost to third ranked GELP (14-5) in La Plata 89-94 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Agustin Vergara (200-2001) notched 25 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and point guard Ezequiel Paz (190-2001, agency: Interperformances) supported him with 19 points. Even 21 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) by Ecuadorian power forward Matias Nunez (202-1995) did not help to save the game for Racing A. . Mariano Fernandez added 16 points and 8 assists for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. GELP moved-up to second place. Loser Racing A. dropped to the tenth position with 11 games lost.
