There was a change at the La Liga Argentina leadership position after last games. Round 42 most important game was a defeat of league's leaderBarrio Parque (15-7). They were edged by fifth ranked Salta Basket (14-9) 86-84 on Sunday night. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Barrio Parque. Salta Basket made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. 26 personal fouls committed by Barrio Parque helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American Chance Hunter (198-1998, college: Cal Poly) scored 23 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Wilfredo Alvarez chipped in 18 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was guard Benjamin Herrera (190-1999) with 9 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Gaston Bertona (176-2001) scored 14 points. Five Salta Basket and four Barrio Parque players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Salta Basket maintains fifth position with 14-9 record. Barrio Parque at the other side still keeps top place with seven games lost. They were joined at the leadership position by Provincial who have the same record.
