There was a small surprise when fourteenth ranked Penarol (9-16) won against their close opponent San Martin (9-16) in Corrientes 68-59 on Thursday. Guard Gonzalo Aman (190-2008) nailed 22 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side and point guard Gian Rossi (185-2005) accounted for 17 points and 4 steals. Valentino Saucedo came up with 16 points and 9 rebounds and Dante Saettone added 13 points respectively for San Martin in the defeat. Penarol maintains fourteenth place with 9-16 record, which they share with defeated San Martin. San Martin lost their sixth game in a row. Penarol will meet higher ranked Regatas (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. San Martin will have a break next round.
