Regular Season Round 47: Comunicaciones - Barrio Parque 96-81

The biggest surprise took place in Mercedes where hostComunicaciones (10-12) beat league's leader Barrio Parque (18-8) 96-81 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Barrio Parque. Comunicaciones dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Barrio Parque 's 30. The best player for the winners was Spanish-Venezuelan swingman Franger Pirela (187-2002) who scored 18 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Center Raymon Bastardo (202-2002) chipped in 18 points (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). Five Comunicaciones players scored in double figures. point guard Gaston Bertona (176-2001) produced 20 points and Francisco Bonja added 8 points and 12 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Comunicaciones moved-up to eleventh place. Barrio Parque at the other side still keeps top position with eight games lost. They were joined at the leadership position by Provincial who have the same record.
