There was an upset when higher rankedFerro (17-13) lost to twelfth ranked San Martin (14-16) in Corrientes 65-71 on Saturday. Franco Mendez (188-2002) notched 18 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and point guard Gaston Garcia (187-1998) supported him with 14 points and 6 rebounds. Even 10 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists by point guard Jano Martinez (180-2003) did not help to save the game for Ferro . Paraguayan center Leonel Bettiga (208) added 11 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Four Ferro players scored in double figures.
