The most surprising game was a loss of top-rankedGimnasia (23-12) in Comodoro Rivadavia on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by sixth ranked Instituto (21-14) 84-77 . It ended at the same time the ten-game winning streak of Gimnasia. It was a good game for the former international Javier Saiz (206-1994) who led his team to a victory with 27 points and 7 rebounds. The former international Leonel Schattmann (193-1987) contributed with 22 points and 4 assists for the winners. point guard Martiniano Dato (188-2004) replied with 15 points and Ecuadorian center Bryan Carabali (214-1999) added 10 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Gimnasia. Gimnasia's coach Pablo Favarel rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Instituto moved-up to fifth place. Gimnasia at the other side still keeps top position with 12 games lost. Instituto are looking forward to face higher ranked Obras (#4) in Buenos Aires in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Gimnasia will have a break next round.
