Regular Season Round 4: Lakers - Pinelands 94-65

Another interesting game was again a derby match of two local teams from Bridgetown: Lakers (#7) and Pinelands (#5). Lakers (1-2) smashed visiting Pinelands (1-3) by 29 points 94-65. Lakers outrebounded Pinelands 54-33 including a 36-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Lakers looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Center David Walkes fired 25 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. The former international guard Keefe Birkett (183-1988) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Rachad Hall (183) produced a double-double by scoring 27 points, 10 rebounds, 9 assists and 8 steals and center Valdez Brathwaite added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Lakers left bottom position moving up to fourth place, which they share with Warrens. It was Pinelands' third loss in a row. They dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. They share it with Heat. Lakers' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Bridgetown to the arena Tridents.
