The game in Punta Gorda was also quite interesting. Fourth rankedWestern Ballaz (5-4) played at the court of 7th ranked Panthers (3-8). Western Ballaz defeated Panthers 75-65 on Saturday. Western Ballaz had a 32-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. Forward Arik Nicholas (196, college: ACU) notched a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 13 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and center Jahiem Ciego supported him with 18 points and 5 rebounds. Western Ballaz's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 24 points and 5 rebounds by American swingman Kyle Steward (201-1995, college: UMKC) did not help to save the game for Panthers . His fellow American import forward Marquis Cunningham (208-1995, college: UAPB) added 13 points and 11 rebounds for lost side. Four Panthers players scored in double figures. Western Ballaz maintains fourth position with 5-4 record. Panthers lost seventh consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth place with eight games lost.
