Regular Season Round 5: Calero - Leones 54-60

Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Potosi: Leones (#3) and Calero (#7). Calero was defeated at home 54-60 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. The former international guard Diego Olguin (186-1995) stepped up and scored 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and Uruguayan point guard Mauro Zubiaurre (189-1994) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Esteban Covarrubias (190-2001) responded with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international center Paolo Ramos (187-1987) scored 8 points and 7 rebounds. Leones maintains third place with 4-2 record behind leader Kinwa. Calero at the other side keeps the seventh position with five games lost. Leones will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Calero will play at home against Pichincha (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
