Rather expected game in Sao Paulo where 12th rankedPaulistano (4-8) was defeated by ninth ranked Vasco da Gama (8-5) 76-70 on Wednesday. American point guard Jamaal Smith (184-1985, college: N.Mexico) fired a double-double by scoring 11 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. Forward Paulo Scheuer (200-1999) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds. Five Vasco da Gama players scored in double figures. Argentinian point guard Santiago Ferreyra (188-1997) produced 21 points and American Brandon Johnson (203-1997, college: DePaul) added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Paulistano's coach Demetrius Ferraciu rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Vasco da Gama have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place. Loser Paulistano dropped to the thirteenth position with eight games lost. They share it with Corinthians.
