Regular Season Round 28: Corinthians - Paulistano 74-65

An interesting game took place in Sao Paulo where higher rankedPaulistano (12-11) was upset on the court of twelfth ranked Corinthians (12-12) 74-65 on Tuesday. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Paulistano. The hosts trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 44-31 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Corinthians made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. Strangely Paulistano outrebounded Corinthians 45-30 including a 19-1 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international point guard Elio Corazza (195-1989, college: Miami Dade CC) who helped to win the game recording 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international guard Caue Borges (186-1991) who added 14 points and 5 assists during the contest. Four Corinthians players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Brunao Cardoso (197-2002) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds and guard Gabriel Landeira (198-2004) scored 12 points and 7 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Corinthians moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Vasco da Gama. Paulistano at the other side keeps the eighth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Sao Jose and UniFacisa.
