Eighth-rankedPinheiros (13-12) gave a tough game to third ranked Brasilia (18-9) on Wednesday. Brasilia managed to secure only two-point victory 72-70 . However their fans expected much easier game. Brasilia looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for guard Gemadinha Sacco (182-1997) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 4 assists. American guard Anton Cook (189-1995, college: SE Oklahoma) helped adding 14 points and 8 assists. Four Brasilia players scored in double figures. At the losing side point guard Caua De Souza (184-2005) responded with 21 points and forward Bernardo Da Silva (206-2000, college: Hawaii) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Brasilia have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain third place with 18-9 record having just one point less than leader Minas. Pinheiros at the other side keeps the eighth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Paulistano.
