NBB top team -Minas (20-4) added another victory to their record. This time they beat eighteenth ranked Fortaleza (6-19) 92-86 . Minas made 18-of-22 charity shots (81.8 percent) during the game. It was a quality performance for American Jeremy Hollowell (203-1994, college: Georgia St., agency: BIG) who led the winners and scored 15 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Argentinian guard Juan Arengo (185-1996) accounted for 19 points and 5 assists for the winning side. Minas' coach Leonardo Costa allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The former international power forward Renan Lenz (207-1990, college: Utah) came up with 21 points and 5 assists and Argentinian point guard Sebastian Orresta (188-1993) added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for Cearense in the defeat. Five Minas and four Cearense players scored in double figures. Minas maintains first place with 20-4 record. Cearense lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 19 games lost. Minas will play against UniFacisa (#10) in Paraiba in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Cearense will play on the road against Paulistano (#8) in Sao Paulo and hopes to get back on the winning track.
