There was no surprise in Sao Paulo where 9th rankedU.Corinthians (3-3) was defeated by fourth ranked Pinheiros (6-2) 102-84 . Pinheiros outrebounded U.Corinthians 38-20 including 24 on the defensive glass. Pinheiros players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. The winners were led by American point guard David Sloan (183-1999, college: ETSU) who scored that evening 20 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and Yan Djalo Barbosa supported him with 15 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Five Pinheiros players scored in double figures. Even 24 points and 5 assists by American Jeremy Hollowell (203-1994, college: Georgia St., agency: BIG) did not help to save the game for U.Corinthians . His fellow American import power forward Devon Scott (205-1994, college: Dayton) added 18 points and 6 assists for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Pinheiros moved-up to third place, which they share with Sesi/Franca and Corinthians. U.Corinthians at the other side keeps the ninth position with three games lost. They share it with Caxias do Sul and UniFacisa.
