The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss ofFlamengo (10-1) in Rio de Janeiro on Thursday night. Hosts were edged by third ranked Brasilia (8-2) 85-83 . It ended at the same time the ten-game winning streak of Flamengo. Brasilia looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for Kevin Crescenzi who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points and 8 rebounds. Argentinian-Italian point guard Facundo Corvalan (190-1998) helped adding 22 points. Four Brasilia players scored in double figures. The former international point guard Alexey Borges (185-1995) responded with 9 points and 11 assists and American Markeith Cummings (198-1988, college: KSU) scored 19 points. Flamengo's coach Sergio Hernandez tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Brasilia have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain third place with 8-2 record having just three points less than leader Flamengo. Flamengo at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost.
