Very important is a home loss of second rankedMinas (10-2) against seventh ranked Pinheiros (8-2) on Friday night. Host Minas was defeated by Pinheiros in a tough game in Belo Horizonte 77-81 . Pinheiros outrebounded Minas 38-25 including 25 on the defensive glass. The game was dominated by American players. It was a good game for point guard David Sloan (183-1999, college: ETSU) who led his team to a victory with 19 points. Forward CJ Penha (202-2000, college: Boston Coll.) contributed with 12 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Forward Erik McCree (202-1993, college: La Tech) replied with 15 points and 8 rebounds and swingman Jordan Williams (196-1992, college: N.Texas) added 10 points in the effort for Minas. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Pinheiros have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Corinthians. Minas at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost.
