The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Sao Paulo:Pinheiros (#1) and Corinthians (#6). Pinheiros (14-2) crushed visiting Corinthians (11-5) by 29 points 109-80 . It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Corinthians. They outrebounded Corinthians 39-27 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Pinheiros looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard David Sloan (183-1999, college: ETSU) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 8 assists. Felipe Borges contributed with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Pinheiros players scored in double figures. American guard Davaunta Thomas (196-1995, college: UAFS) answered with 15 points and 6 rebounds and the former international Lucas Caue (206-1998) added 15 points in the effort for Corinthians. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Pinheiros have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. They maintain first place with 14-2 record, which they share with Flamengo and Minas. Corinthians at the other side keeps the sixth position with five games lost.
