Regular Season Round 20: Minas - Flamengo 85-87

The most shocking disappointment of round 20 was only two-point a home defeat of second-rankedMinas (14-3) to third ranked Flamengo (15-2) 87-85 . It ended the five-game winning streak of Minas . It was a key game for the top position in the league. Strangely Minas outrebounded Flamengo 40-27 including 31 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of Alex Negrete who helped to win the game recording 19 points and American Markeith Cummings (198-1988, college: KSU) who added 21 points during the contest. Winicius Braga responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds and American swingman Jordan Williams (196-1992, college: N.Texas) scored 20 points and 5 rebounds. Five Flamengo and four Minas players scored in double figures. Minas' coach Leonardo Costa tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Flamengo have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Pinheiros. Minas at the other side dropped to the third place with three games lost. They share the position with Sesi/Franca.
