There was no surprise when 20th rankedVasco (2-16) was defeated on the road by sixteenth ranked Cruzeiro (5-12) 79-75 on Tuesday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Cruzeiro looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was Jamison Costa who scored 22 points. American point guard Gerald Gittens Jr (183-2002, college: NMU) chipped in 7 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists. Four Cruzeiro players scored in double figures. Cruzeiro's coach Thiago Perez allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Center Sergio Conceicao (209-2000) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import point guard Nate Barnes (181-1990, college: ABU) added 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Cruzeiro moved-up to fourteenth place. Loser Vasco stay at the bottom position with 16 games lost.
