There was no surprise in Sao Paulo where 17th rankedRio Claro (4-15) was defeated by fourth ranked Vivo/Franca (16-3) 82-74 . Worth to mention a great performance of the former international point guard Georginho de Paula (197-1996) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 7 rebounds. American guard David Jackson (192-1982, college: Penn State) contributed with 10 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Forward Vitor Narcizio (194-2002) replied with 28 points and American power forward DeMarco Owens (203-1996, college: Montevallo) added 17 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Rio Claro. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Vivo/Franca have an impressive ten-game winning streak. Sesi/Franca moved-up to third place, which they share with Minas. Rio Claro lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixteenth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Osasco and Cearense.
