Everything went according to plan in Rio de Janeiro where seventh rankedCorinthians (15-8) beat bottom-ranked Vasco (3-19) 75-67 . Corinthians dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Vasco 's 32. They outrebounded Vasco 38-22 including 26 on the defensive glass. Forward Kauan Raymundo (201-2005, college: NW Florida St.) notched a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds to lead the effort and American guard Davaunta Thomas (196-1995, college: UAFS) supported him with 17 points. Thomas is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Four Corinthians players scored in double figures. Even 12 points and 5 assists by point guard Alexsander Vernizz (184-2000) did not help to save the game for Vasco . American forward Andrew Morgan (208-1997, college: Nebraska) added 12 points for the hosts. Corinthians moved-up to sixth place. Vasco at the other side stay dead last with 19 lost games.
