Regular Season Round 3: Salvador - Mesquita 71-66
Date: March 27, 2026
Salvador can celebrate their first win this season after three consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Mesquita (2-3) 71-66 on Friday. Salvador forced 24 Mesquita turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Tayna Reis (170-1996) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and Cuban point guard Ineidis Casanova (162-1988) who added 17 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Salvador players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Jayla Crawford (170-2000, college: Alabama St., agency: Interperformances) responded with 24 points and 6 rebounds and her fellow American import swingman Connie Clarke (178-2001, college: MWSU, agency: Interperformances) scored 19 points and 6 rebounds. Mesquita's coach Raphael Zaremba rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Salvador (1-3) left bottom position moving up to eighth place, which they share with Recife. Loser Mesquita keeps the sixth position with three games lost. Salvador will meet at home higher ranked SESI (#5) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Mesquita will play against Santo Andre and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
