Regular Season Round 8: Alemana P. - Pankull 79-43

There was no surprise when 6th ranked Pankull (1-5) was outleveled by top-ranked Alemana P. (6-0) in Paillaco 79-43 on Saturday. Alemana P. held Pankull to an opponent 19.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 36.6 percent accuracy of the winners. Alemana P. forced 19 Pankull turnovers and outrebounded them 68-41 including a 47-29 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Pankull's players. The winners were led by the former international center Tatiana Gomez (192-1981) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 24 points, 22 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals and the former international forward Anahi Moran (168-1996) supported her with 10 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Alemana P. players scored in double figures. Even 21 points by center Valentina Pincheira (-1995) did not help to save the game for Pankull. Michelle Campos (-1994) added 12 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Alemana P. have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 6-0 record, which they share with Univ.Concepcion. Pankull lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth place with five games lost. They share the position with Truenos. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
