Regular Season Round 4: Las Animas - Ancud 76-87

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Valdivia. Third ranked Ancud faced one of their biggest challengers Las Animas. Guests from Ancud (3-1) defeated host Las Animas (3-2) 87-76. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Las Animas. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international point guard Franco Morales (181-1992) who helped to win the game recording 37 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of her nine free throws !!!) and American forward Dennis McKinney (194-1998, college: Mt.Mercy, agency: GoEmpire Group) who added 15 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Argentinian power forward Cristian Amicucci (200-1985) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international Alejandro Vergara (196-1995) scored 14 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ancud moved-up to second place, which they share with Tinguiririca. Loser Las Animas dropped to the third position with two games lost. They share it with Espanol O.. Ancud will meet at home Espanol O. (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Las Animas will play against Castro and hope to secure a win.
