Regular Season Round 8: Ancud - Las Animas 85-82

The most exciting game of round 8 in the CUP took place in Ancud. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 5th rankedLas Animas (3-6) to second ranked Ancud (6-2) 85-82 on Friday evening. Ancud looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Derrick Woods (203-1996, college: St.Peter's, agency: SLN) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points and 14 rebounds and Colombian Alvaro Pena (197-1995) who added 14 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. The former international forward Gianncarlo Caraboni (-1990) responded with 25 points and 5 rebounds and American power forward Rashad Hassan (203-1989, college: SSU) scored 21 points and 9 rebounds. Five Ancud and four Las Animas players scored in double figures. Las Animas' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Ancud maintains second position with 6-2 record having four points less than leader Los Leones, which they share with Puente Alto. Las Animas at the other side keep the fifth place with six games lost.
