Regular Season Round 9: Los Leones - Puente Alto 72-76

The biggest surprise of round 9 took place in Quilpue where guestPuente Alto (#1) beat lower ranked Los Leones (#2) by 4 points 76-72 on Sunday evening. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The best player for the winners was American-Puerto Rican forward Jonathan Ocasio (196-1992, college: New Haven) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. American forward Justin Strings (201-1996, college: Sacramento St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds. Four Puente Alto players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international forward Ignacio Carrion (201-1993) who recorded 11 points and 8 rebounds and the former international forward Darrol Jones (193-1994) added 9 points and 6 assists respectively. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Puente Alto maintains first place with 8-2 record. Defending champion Los Leones keep the second position with three games lost.
