Eighth-rankedPuente Alto (14-18) made lots of trouble for third ranked Puerto Varas (22-10) on Saturday. Puerto Varas managed to secure only three-point victory 91-88 . However their fans expected much easier game. American forward Joshua Morris (203-1993, college: UTPB) had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international guard Marcelo Perez (196-1999, college: Southern Miss) chipped in 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was the former international Joaquin Pino (193-2000) with 25 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and American-Puerto Rican forward Jonathan Ocasio (196-1992, college: New Haven) scored 19 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Puerto Varas have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 22-10 record having six points less than leader Los Leones. Loser Puente Alto keeps the eighth place with 18 games lost. They share the position with Las Animas.
