Los Leones dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Brisas ' 34. Los Leones forced 26 Brisas turnovers and outrebounded them 47-35 including 17 on the offensive glass. Los Leones players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Brisas ' players. Brisas were plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Akilah Bethel (183-1993, college: LSU) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. The other American import center Alexus Johnson (197-1994, college: Texas Southern) contributed with 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Five Los Leones players scored in double figures. Maria Mancilla (-2007) replied with 19 points and the former international Fernanda Serrano (175-1992) added 17 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Brisas. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Los Leones maintains third position with 5-3 record having just two point less than leader Puente Alto. Brisas at the other side keep the sixth place with seven games lost.
