Regular Season Round 8: Illaplel - Quilpue 65-52

Rather expected game when 3rd ranked Quilpue (3-3) was defeated on the road by first ranked Illaplel (5-1) 65-52 on Saturday. Illaplel outrebounded Quilpue 49-27 including a 38-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard David Valencia (175-1995) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds and Brazilian guard Caio Domingos (178-2005) who added 8 points and 15 rebounds during the contest. Maximiliano Lopez (-2003) responded with 18 points and Axel Soria (-1999) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Illaplel have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 5-1 record. Loser Quilpue keeps the third place with three games lost. They share the position with Stadio Italiano. Illaplel will meet at home league's second-placed Arabe de Valp. in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Quilpue will play against Arturo Prat and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
