Regular Season Round 1: La Union - Huachipato 75-83

ButLa Union was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from 83-75 on Saturday night. Huachipato outrebounded La Union 45-29 including a 38-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Pedro Martis stepped up with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 15 rebounds for the winners and Luis Becerra (-2001) chipped in 22 points. At the losing side Argentinian-Italian forward Stefano Alesso (213-2003, college: Stetson) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds and the former international point guard Cristian Correa (185-1999) scored 19 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Four La Union players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest.
