Very predictable result in San Andres Island where second rankedStorm (9-5) defeated bottom-ranked Sabios (2-11) 95-77 on Tuesday. Carrib.Storm forced 19 Sabios turnovers and outrebounded them 50-37 including 20 on the offensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Carrib.Storm made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was American Desmond Holloway (194-1990, college: Coastal) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. The other American import forward Kyree Elder (196-1998, college: Shawnee St.) chipped in 18 points and 4 assists. Elder is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Storm's coach used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Venezuelan swingman Kevin Nino (195-1991) produced 39 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and Venezuelan guard Amos Acosta (180-1996) added 18 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 7 steals respectively for the guests. Storm have a solid four-game winning streak. Carrib.Storm maintains second position with 9-5 record having just three points less than leader Motilones. Sabios lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 11 games lost.
