Regular Season Round 9: Motilones - Cimarrones 63-67

The most surprising game was another loss of top-rankedMotilones (12-3) in Cucuta on Thursday night. Hosts were defeated by sixth ranked Cimarrones (5-8) 67-63 . Cimarrones outrebounded Motilones 43-32 including 33 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for the former international swingman Andres Carmona (195-1997) who led his team to a victory with 22 points. The former international forward Michael Jackson (192-1987) contributed with 16 points and 9 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) for the winners. Cimarrones' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Dominican power forward Juan Rosario (203-1999) answered with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks and American point guard Jeremy Smith (180-1997, college: CSUSB, agency: Diamond Sports) added 18 points in the effort for Motilones. Cimarrones moved-up to fifth place. Motilones at the other side still keep top position with three games lost. Cimarrones are looking forward to face Paisas (#6) in Medellin in the next round. Motilones will have a break next round.
