Very important is a home loss of second rankedStorm (10-6) against fourth ranked Toros (8-7) on Saturday night. Host Storm was defeated by Toros in a tough game in San Andres Island 86-90 . It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Storm. Benito Santiago (197-1989, college: Cumberlands) stepped up and scored 38 points (!!!) (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) for the winners and Panamanian Josimar Ayarza (205-1987, college: Southern Miss) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was the former international guard Romario Roque (175-1998) with 25 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and American Desmond Holloway (194-1990, college: Coastal) scored 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Storm's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Toros Del Valle maintains fourth place with 8-7 record. Carrib.Storm at the other side keeps the second position with six games lost. They share it with Piratas. Toros Del Valle will play against bottom-ranked Sabios (#7) in Manizales in the next round. Carrib.Storm will play at home against the league's second-placed Piratas (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
